Lumbini Park is a small park in Hyderabad city near Hussain Nagar. It is one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The park had been developed for entertainment and relaxation in 1994.
The maintenance and preservation of the park is under the Buddha Purnima project of the Urban Development Authority of Hyderabad. The main reason for naming the park as Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha.
Toddlers, kids and young people visit the park almost every day to enjoy the amusement rides. The garden inside the park is stunning with different varieties of plants and the rock decorations.
The key attraction inside the park is a majestic clock at the entry gate. The musical fountain show is fabulous to watch as the waters dance with the rhythmic beats of the music. A 3D laser show occurs in the evening where you can witness the city being created with the vibrant display of lights.
The best season to visit the park is the winters during the months from November to February when the weather is pleasant and cool in Hyderabad. The afternoon and evening are the perfect time to be present inside the park so that you can watch the musical fountain and the laser show.

It captivates the audience with its superb display of laser lights depicting the historical stories of Hyderabad. Adjacent to the laser show is the musical fountain. It is interesting to watch the stream of water dancing along with the musical tunes.
On weekdays the laser show is held once a day at 7:15 PM whereas on the weekends it is held twice on Saturdays and Sundays at 7:15 PM and 8:30 PM.
There are separate tickets for the laser show, INR 50 for each person. The musical fountain show timings start from 6:30 PM till 8:00 PM.
1. The park provides opportunities to purchase tickets online. It is better to opt for the option to avoid the crowd at the ticket counters.
2. Outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the park, hence you must follow the guidelines.
3. Shops and stalls selling food and beverages are present for the visitors.
4. Mobile phones and cameras are allowed inside the park for the tourists to conveniently capture the beautiful landscape.
5. There are separate charges for boat rides and laser shows over and above the entry fees. Restrooms and drinking water facilities are available in the park.
6. There is a parking area inside the park for vehicles. You must ask for a parking slip positively from the authorities.
7. Dustbins are available at various corners of the park for waste disposal.
8. The visitors need to follow the instructions of the boat operators regarding security restrictions. Wearing life jackets, especially for the speed boats is very important. The riders must abide by the rules and not try to defy it.
9.The evenings must never be avoided while visiting the park. You can witness the beautiful sunrise, the amazing 3D laser show, and the enchanting musical fountain.
By Road – Private and public buses operate throughout the city, connecting to the park. The nearest bus stand is that of the secretariat which is at a 3 minutes walking distance from the park.
You can hire taxis and auto-rickshaws which ply from different parts of the city to reach the park.
By Train – The nearest railway station is Nampally which is 3 km away and Secunderabad which is 4.5 km away. Cabs, auto-rickshaws and buses are available from the stations to reach the park.
