Highlights: The temple was built in the honour of Chinese goddess of Mercy, Kuan Yin, hence the name of the temple. It was brought to use not just for religious purposes but also for social gatherings initially. Typical Chinese architecture can be observed at the temple with carvings of dragons around stone pillars, ceramic sculptures of dragons that line up the roof ridges and high rising ceilings. The temple grounds also have two wells and are designed for use by the public.
