KIBWORTH VILLAGES

Kibworth Villages are historic villages that were featured in a 2010 BBC documentary. They tell the story of England and uncover its history, which stretches back to the Anglo Saxons, Vikings, and Bronze Age. These villages feature some of the most spectacular trails that are ideal for a day of exploration.

Kibworth is a spectacular area of the Harborough district of Leicestershire. It contains three beautiful civil parishes, the villages of Kibworth Harcourt, Smeeton Westerby, and Kibworth Beauchamp. Originally Westerby and Smeeton were two separate hamlets, but they merged some time ago and became a parish village. Kibworth is home to seventeen listed buildings, including the Harcourt Windmill.

Kibworth Harcourt houses Beaker Close, a burial ground of the Bronze-Age Beaker people. Smeeton Westerby doesn't have its own shop, but you can find here a traditional pub, a parish church, a village hall, and several farms.
