The Kibitsu Jinja is a Shinto shrine located in the Okayama prefecture in Japan. This is the first shrine of the Bitchu province and it faces north at the foot of Mount Kibi Nakayama. This shrine has been considered sacred ever since ancient times and is considered to be a National Treasure. The shrine is built in Kibitsu Zukuri style of architecture and is also designated as Important Cultural Properties.
The locals believe that the origin of the temple dates back to the 1420s and is known for the cultural performances that happen here. While tourists visit a lot of spiritual sites in Japan and find it to be crowded, this place is more peaceful. Tourists visiting this place can also get a peach shaped amulet as a souvenir as the locals believe it to be a lucky charm. In this shrine, Okibitsuhiko Okami is the central deity and is known for the Narukama ritual.
