Jatayu Earth Center Overview

Visit the unique rock-themed destination in Kerala for a day of adventure amidst nature and mythology. Inaugurated in 2017, the Jatayu Nature Park is focused on promoting Indian culture and adventure tourism. The highlight here is the world's largest stone-cut bird sculpture, a replica of Jatayu from the Ramayana. It is positioned on the hill where Jatayu, a godly avian character in the epic Ramayana, fell after battling the demon god Ravana. 

The park also features a 6D theatre, digital audio-visual room, cable car, and an ayurvedic cave resort. Adventure enthusiasts can engage in various activities such as paintball, laser tag, archery, bouldering, rock climbing, and air rifle shooting. Conceptualised by a popular film director from Kerala, this project is an initiative to blend art, epic tales, history, and technology. The park not only captivates tourists but also contributes to the local community. It incorporates rainwater harvesting and solar power for sustainable practices.

How To Reach

By Road: If you are driving, The Center is located around 200 meters from the Trivandrum – Kochi highway and is easily accessible. If you are covering the journey from Trivandrum, the best choice is to arrange for a private cab or taxi. 

Once here, the best way to reach the hilltop is to take a cable car which will take only a few minutes to get to the top. Alternatively, you can take the walkway that comprises approximately 826 steps to reach the gigantic sculpture. Yet another option to reach the top is to go for the helicopter taxi services for an aerial view of the grand sculpture and its breathtaking surroundings.
