Jack the Ripper was an infamous serial killer who threatened the streets of East London, shocked the world with his murder of eleven women, and successfully maintained his identity to be secret. There have been scores of theories, books, and films that tried to solve the crime but unfortunately reached a dead end.

The Jack the Ripper museum at Cable Street in London, founded by Mark Palmer-Edgecumbe, is a quirky attraction that portrays the history of women in London’s East end, grisly murder scenes, and artifacts related to the killer and the victims. It houses artificial settings that look like the Whitechapel locality in 1888, a recreation of the victims’ rooms, and original newspaper clippings about the crime and the suspected killers.

You can also catch a glimpse of the autopsy photos, medical reports, and illustrations of many victims at the museum. The Mary Kelly room is a popular place to visit at the museum since it shows the room in which Mary Kelly, the first victim, lived and died. The museum also hosts a walking tour at 3 PM every day so that visitors can look at all the main locations linked to the murder series.
