Hylands Estate is an old classical villa styled in a neoclassical architectural design, located in Hylands park over an extensively large area of 232 hectares. The estate of Hylands was commissioned by a well-respected lawyer Sir John Comyns, its construction was completed in 1730. The two-story red brick building of the family house which is amongst the beautiful tourist attractions in Chelmsford has an elegant Queen Anne-style structure.
At the house is organized a monthly exhibition which helps visitors get familiar with the history of Hylands House. The collection at the large royal house involves artworks and other utilities which are put together in the library. Just outside the house, at the front is set up the popular Farmer’s & Craft Market where you can buy some locally produced handcrafted goods.
