The Himalayan Bird Park, popularly known as the Himalayan Aviary, is well known for its huge collection of common and rare birds. The park is located near ViceRegal Lodge, an important heritage building of Shimla, and is situated at an elevation of 2212 metres above sea level. 

The place is a paradise for Ornithology enthusiasts, being inhabited by vibrant peacocks, pheasants, peafowl and other exotic as well as indigenous species. The park is also inhabited by the beautiful Himalayan Monal, the national bird of Nepal. Apart from birds, you will also be able to see a large variety of plants and trees.  

Visit this park for an enjoyable bird-watching experience and indulge in nature photography. The park will also offer you various opportunities to learn more about the birds. Workshops, educational programs and visits to the bird hospital and breeding centre are also available for tourists. The park also has a calm and soothing ambience, making it an ideal place for relaxation.

Tips:

1.The park is closed on Mondays, so do not visit on any Monday.

2.You will need to pay an entry ticket to enter the park. The price of tickets for adults and children is different.

3.You will need ideally three to four hours to cover the whole park.

4.If you are visiting in winter, be sure to cover yourself with winter wear and also wear appropriate shoes to walk on snow. This is because, during winter, the place is covered with white snow.
