HET SCHIP

How To Reach

By Car: Take exit S102 off the A10 Ring Road West towards Westerpark, then follow the Transformatorweg to the Spaarndammerdijk. Then take the Spaarndammerdijk until you reach the Oostzaanstraat, where the museum is located at no. 45. There is plenty of parking available near the museum.

By Bus: Take bus 22 from Central Station or Sloterdijk Station to Spaarndammerstraat and walk about 5 minutes to Oostzaanstraat 45. Take bus 18 or 21 from the city center to the Haarlemmerplein bus stop and walk 15 minutes to Het Schip.

Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit Het Schip is during the early morning hours if you want to explore its exteriors without much crowd and in lovely weather. Guided tours are available from 11 am to 4 pm in English and Dutch every hour, but the 3 pm tour will always be in English. It is recommended to schedule your trip at 3 pm and arrive there at least 15 minutes before the tour times if you wish to explore the museum and learn about the complex's history from an English-speaking expert guide.
