Hauraki Gulf Marine Park Islands Overview

The Hauraki Gulf Marine Park Islands are a group of islands located in the Hauraki Gulf, just off the coast of Auckland. These islands are home to a variety of wildlife, including native birds, seals, and dolphins. Visitors can take part in activities such as swimming, kayaking, and fishing. There are also a number of walking tracks that wind through the island vegetation.

Hauraki Gulf Marine Park encompasses an area of around 1.2 million hectares. There are more than 50 islands in the park, many of which are public conservation land. Many islands are open to the public, some are shelters for endangered animals for which you need a permit.

Five marine reserves can also be found in the park itself along with hiking trails, vineyards, and more.
