Situated north of the Acropolis, the Hadrian’s Library is one of oldest libraries in the world. Founded in the 2nd century BC, by a Roman emperor, this library is home to a beautiful garden, several rare paintings and statues, a modern library, and few lecture halls. With several restorations and reconstructions, the Hadrian library stands as it is now.
Hadrian’s library is one of the famous Athens sightseeing places and makes for one of the major attractions in the city. This is not only a library but also had music and lecture rooms along with a pool.
This library was constructed beautifully but has tarnished and damaged over time with the ravages and destruction caused on the site. However, it is still one of the places to be visited while on a vacation to Athens.
