The house of Greyfriars was rescued from demolition during 1955 in the centre of the city of Worcester and turned into a tourist spot. Visitors come here to get a glimpse of the life of commoners in England during the mediaeval times, they look at the architecture of the house and its beautiful garden.
Greyfriars’ House and Garden is a late mediaeval wealthy merchant's precious house located on Friar street which is valued so much because of its architecture and beautiful garden. The house was saved from demolition with the efforts of the National Trust which works in protecting nature, beauty and history. Since then it has been turned into a tourist spot which exposes one to the mediaeval architecture of locales. It is one of the great tourist places to visit in Worcester because it discloses the different aspects of the lives of the commoners of England.
Inside the villa of Greyfriar, you could roam around the Summer Garden which is full of dramatic seasonal flowers like yellow begonia, roses, lilies, and many others. At the place of the garden, once stood George’s Yard with a row of 10 blindback houses which were demolished to create the tranquil garden. You can visit the house between Tuesday-Saturday along with your guide who would introduce you to the various aspects of the house. The tickets for the tour are available on the counter which most approximately would run for an hour.
