Deemed to be the only stadium in UP to host one day and test matches, Green Park Stadium is a huge cricket playground perched on the banks of Ganga river. The stadium was founded in 1945 at Kan Chamber and has an accommodating space for about 32,000 viewers.
Earlier known as Modi Stadium, Green Park is solely managed by UP’s sports department and is known to have the biggest manually operated scoreboard throughout the world. Additionally, the park also houses a student’s gallery which is only one of its kinds in the entire country. Its pavilion has been recently renovated and turned into a three-storied pavilion which is complete with dining rooms, umpire rooms, gym centre, and a spacious dressing room. If you are looking for some unique places to visit in Kanpur, this cricket stadium certainly deserves a place in your travel itinerary.
