GLASGOW WOMENS LIBRARY

Glasgow Women's Library is one of the most empowering places to visit in Glasgow, as it is fully dedicated to women's histories, lives, and achievements. The library is a creative hub with ESOL classes, meeting space, and various training materials. It also organizes various activities like Story Cafe - a weekly event where fiction and stories are read aloud, followed by chat, food, and laughter.

Glasgow Women's Library is the UK's only Accredited Museum dedicated to women's histories and lives. The library provides information on various women's issues like maternal health, access to education, employment opportunities, and gender equality issues. As an accredited museum, it exhibits an array of artifacts, exhibitions, and displays that have been created by library users themselves. Some of the events that are organized here include Women's Heritage Walks, exhibitions, book readings, and so much more. The museum also offers specialized learning, archives, and collections.

It has thirteen paid staff and more than eighty volunteers to efficiently manage the library. The library regularly hosts interesting exhibitions ranging from work by students at GSA or outsider artists to items from the library's collections. It was awarded the Recognised Collection of National Significance in 2015, as the collection contains resources about women and their lives.
