George Street Overview

George Street is one of the busiest streets in Sydney and one of the oldest too. It is located in the Central Business District and the tallest skyscrapers of Sydney are all located along this street. It begins from The Rocks in the north end near the Sydney Harbour Bridge and it extends to the south end of the city close to Central Station and Ultimo.

George Street was Sydney's highstreet earlier and it connects most of the iconic attractions of this iconic city to each other. 

George Street begins from The Rocks in the north end and continues till Broadway Ultimo. The entire Street is filled with several multiple national companies, office buildings and shopping centres. The tallest skyscrapers of Sydney are found along this street. 

Besides the tall and modern skyscrapers, George Street also has some of the finest examples of 17th and 18th century Baroque and Romanesque Revival architecture. Some of these include the Queen Victoria Building, the General Post Office, the Strand Arcade, St Andrew's Cathedral and many others.
