Embedded with the marks of the marble and hidden partially because of the undergrowth, the entry to this magnificent palace is through a small door featuring an arch-key marking and tiled lintels. The entrance features a narrow staircase which is further connected to all rooms, residences and the Patio de la Acequia. It is later linked to the arcaded gallery with bedchambers, five arches and the Royal Chamber.

According to the history, the last Nasrid ruler, Bombadil's wife, used to have an affair with a knight of the Abencerrajes family here in this court. Jardin de la Sultana dates back to 1584 and features stone fountains with jets, trimmed myrtle hedges and old cypress trees. The palace also features a small door which links the Patio de la Acequia to the rest of the monumental complex.

Escalera del Agua

Also regarded as the water stairway, Escalera del Agua is another prominent site in Generalife, which is regarded as one of the most interesting and innovative features of this garden. Due to the frequent dance and music festival conducted in Generalife, a theatre was constructed back in 1952.
