One of the most striking of Jimbaran attractions, the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park stands testament to the Hindu roots of Bali. The Park takes its name from its iconic sculpture of Vishnu, imagined as perched on his mount Garuda.
Rising to a height of about 120 meters, the Vishnu-Garuda statue is one of the largest structures in the world and stands out among the peaks of the Bukit Peninsula. If you're planning a visit, consider exploring Bali tour packages that include a visit to this majestic statue and witness the breathtaking views from the top.
The statue, however, is only a small part of the 60-hectare park that spreads across the peninsula. Landscaped walkways lead one through gardens and plazas, each boasting of unique, splendid views. Those not desiring to walk can also ride a scooter or a Segway on rent.
During the late evening hours each day, the Park hosts a number of traditional Balinese performances as well. Additionally, the Park features a number of traditional Balinese eateries, where one can make a quick stop for a snack or a meal.
