Fyksesund Bridge is a suspension road bridge located in the Vestland county of Norway. This bridge is almost 350 metres long and has the largest span of up to 230 metres. The bridge was originally designed by Olaf Stand and is more than 100 years old. In fact, the bridge was opened in 1937 by OLav- the then crown prince of Norway.
If you are planning to visit this bridge, you have a lot to try out. From simply walking across the bridge to clicking pictures, this is a great place for a day trip from Fyksesund. In fact, the bridge is built above the fjord too, so if you fancy exploring the fjord on a cruise, then this has got you covered. We recommend taking it, especially if you want to admire the eye catchy views of the mountains and beyond.
• Stroll around the bridge, get yourself clicked and carry home the pictures as a unique souvenir.
• Try out your luck in fishing in the nearby villages located close to the bridge and carry home what you catch.
• Take a day trip to Bergen and explore places like the Old Bergen Museum and the Kode Museums.
• Go to the Bergenhus Fortress and admire the different types of fortifications that have been preserved since 1500.
• Attend any festivals or concerts that happen in the Bergenhus Fortress and know more about the local traditions and practices.
Fyksesund Bridge is open throughout the year, so you can plan your visit to this place at any time of the year.
