Fremont Street is a historic street in Las Vegas which is situated in Downtown Las Vegas on the north of the Las Vegas Strip. The street was first opened in 1905 and served as a busy travel route as well as a place where business and pleasure came together. The iconic city was also the home to the first casino and still has several historic casinos such as the Golden Nugget, Four Queen, and Binion's Gambling Hall. Recently the six-block street has been converted to pedestrian traffic-only, allowing visitors to explore the pedestrian mall which is lined with shops, casinos and restaurants.
