History about FIFA World Football Museum

FIFA World Football Museum was opened in 2016, and the project was proposed by the former President of the FIFA, Sepp Blatter. The Federation, after approving the project, eventually chose to acquire the Haus zur Enge from Swiss Life and rebuilt it as the Fifa Football Museum.

The construction began in 2014 and was completed by December 2015. The museum was eventually inaugurated by the incumbent President Gianni Infantino. At present, the museum holds memorabilia from every single FIFA World Cup and Women's World Cup. It also exhibits the trophy from the very first FIFA World Cup.

Things to Learn at the FIFA World Football Museum

There are a number of great tidbits about the world of soccer that you learn as you go through the hallways and presentations spread throughout the museum. Here are some of the most interesting and  thought-provoking things to learn from the museum:

1. Seats in different Soccer Stadiums are Made Different
If you have attended football leagues in different parts of the world, you would have noticed a difference in the design of the seats of the stadium. The FIFA World Football Museum has forty different seats from all across the world.

These seats predominantly are from Germany, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, and Spain. This is the most racially and ethnically diverse exhibit that you’ll witness at FIFA World Football Museum.  You can also witness here the display of the kits of every (male) team associated with the FIFA World Cup.

2. Overlooked or Under-Appreciated Achievements
Whenever a tournament is held the winning team gets lots of praise by the media, and the team which loses the game is highly criticized. However, the football museum highlights some of the specific achievements of countries that don't get highlighted enough after losing the game.

This offers great knowledge to the tourists who don't have much interest in the game. Some tourists are bound to stay surprised with the new knowledge about their own country's achievements. It is seldom mentioned in normal conversations, for instance, that El Salvador ranks no. 1 in CONCACAF Beach Soccer, and no. 5 in Beach Soccer worldwide.

It is also the only country in the CONCACAF Confederation to qualify four consecutive times in a FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. You can visit the FIFA World Football Museum to know about many such overlooked achievements of the teams and the players in soccer.

3. The World Cup Trophy is Surprisingly Simple, yet Attractive
FIFA World Football Museum houses the collection of men's and women's World Cup Trophies in glass cases. You can take a selfie holding these trophies to recreate the magical moment of victory of your favorite team.

4. The women aren't given their due share
FIFA World Football Museum has a swanky corridor, alluring furnishing, and it offers the multivariate experience to the visitors. But behind all this, the museum cannot still hide the fact that FIFA has a learning curve when it comes to treating Women's soccer with the respect they deserve.

Exhibits consisting of women are minor and located in the corners of the main showrooms of the museum. This is especially disheartening because some of the visitors even leave the museum without knowing about the heroic moments in Women FIFA.

5. You can leave Part of You at the Museum
If you give FIFA World Football Museum a memorable trinket or keepsake, they will display it in their memory jars alongside your name. This definitely gives you a right to brag that you have been featured in the FIFA World Museum alongside the other great soccer players.
