One of the most spiritual places to visit in Paro and you should include them in your Bhutan travel packages, Dra Karpo translates to the splitting of rock. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche who meditated on this hill broke a rock into pieces and revealed an evil spirit taking refuge within it; and hence the name "Dra Karpo". The hill is considered extremely sacred and pilgrims take 108 rounds of walk around the hill as a way to free themselves from the sins committed.
