How To Reach Dovre Mountain
By Car: From Oslo, drive 400 km northwest via the E6, taking about 5 hours. From Trondheim, you can drive 300 km south via the E6 in roughly 3.5 hours. From Fjord Norway you can drive the Rv70, E136 (past Bjorli and Lesjaskog), Rv15 (over Strynefjellet), or Fv55 (over Sognefjellet) to connect with the E6.
By Bus: Take a bus to Dover Bus Station, which is approximately 1 km from the trailheads. From the bus station, you can reach the Dovre Mountain trailheads with a 15-minute walk. Long-distance and local buses provide access to the station from nearby towns.
By Train: Take the Dovre Line from Oslo or Trondheim to Dovre, Dombås, Hjerkinn, or Kongsvold. Dombås is about 40 km from Dovre Mountain, requiring a 40-minute bus ride. Hjerkinn is 20 km away, and requires a 20-minute drive, while Kongsvold is 10 km, and requires a 15-minute drive.
