After being closed for almost 10 years, the Derby Police Museum has once again opened its doors for the public. The museum houses a wide variety of historical police artifacts and aims to showcase the history of Derbyshire Constabulary. It is a wonderful place for anyone who would like to learn more about the olden days of policing.
Situated in Derby, the Derby Police Museum houses a rich collection of the age-old police artifacts and collections dating back from the 1830s to the modern day equipment. View objects like police uniforms, handcuffs, the victorian truncheons as well as the modern day helmet at the museum. Other items at the museum include fingerprint kits, mugshots and photos which will give you an insight on the different police eras.
A friendly staff of volunteers and staff will be there to assist and inform you about the story behind each and every item. From kids to adults, everyone will have a wonderful time while visiting the museum and learning about the development of the police from the old days to the modern ways. Derby police Museum is among the few tourist attractions in Derby where you will be able to reimagine the olden police days apart from learning more about the modern-day equipment and police techniques.
