CROSS BATH

The Cross Bath is a small, historic and a beautiful gem set in a spacious Georgian style building over its own spring source. It is an intimate open-air thermal pool with changing facilities and a specially built poolside fountain. The pool water is from natural thermal springs that are believed to have healing and curative properties.

Cross Bath in Bath Street is one of the best places to see in Bath along with family, friends and children since it is apt for people of all ages. It is a historic pool that has been qualified as a Grade I listed building in the National Heritage List for England. The pool sits on its own spring source in the centre of the city and has thermal waters with medicinal properties. The water present underground is rainwater percolated through limestone aquifers to a depth of 4300 metres under the Earth’s surface.

Due to the high pressure and temperature, the water heats up to 96oC and is taken to the treatment plant where the water is cooled down to a comfortable 35oC.
