How To Reach

By Car: The Black Forest is approximately 52 km from the Schwarzwald city centre. Using the B294 route, it will take approximately 1 hour to visit the destination. 

By Bus: Take a bus from Hausach. It will take around 1 hour and 44 minutes to reach your destination. You can easily get a taxi from any corner of the city that will take you to your destination. You can also choose to drive yourself all the way to the Black Forest. For a more budget-friendly option, there are auto rickshaws available in the city that will also drop you at the forest.

The black forest remains open throughout the year. 

  • Best season: The ideal time to travel to the Black Forest in Germany is during the summer. So, plan your travel between July and August. 
  • The best day of the week: The best day of the week is Saturday and Sunday. Visit the Black Forest on weekends for an exceptional touring experience. 
  • The best time of day: The best time of day is to head to the Black Forest in the early morning between 6:00 and 7:00 AM. You may also visit there in the evening at around 5:00 PM to witness the sunset.
