Mina City or Mina Valley is famed for being a place loaded with tents. Located at a distance of 8 KM from the holy site of Mecca, this valley is known for providing a home to the visitors and pilgrims who visit Mecca. The place has more than 100,000 air conditioned tents which work as a temporary shelter for the ones who come on a Hajj to the holy Mecca.
The tents here come with proper facilities ranging from kitchen to well equipped bathrooms, with a rule that men and women can not stay together in the same tent. Due to the large collection of these tents, the place has also got the name of “the city of tents”. Mina is also a home to the three pillars which represent the satan or the devil and the ritual of stoning of the devil during the last days of Hajj is also performed here.
