CHENDEBJI CHORTEN

How To Reach

By Car: If you are in the centre of Trongsa, you can take the Semtokha Trashigang highway road to reach the Chendebji Chorten. The overall distance is 40 kilometres from the heart of the city and can take up to an hour to reach. 

Best Time To Visit

Chendebji Chorten is open throughout the year, so you can plan your visit to this place at any time of the year. 

-You can visit Chendebji Chorten on the weekdays due to fewer crowds, regardless of any time of the year. 

- Due to the favourable temperature in the surroundings, the best time of the day to visit the Chendebji Chorten will be in the afternoon.

• Although the Government of Bhutan scrapped the mandatory tour guide rules, it is better to travel with one for the best experience. 
• To maintain the number of tourists entering Bhutan, the government has imposed a fee that must be paid every day depending upon the number of days you stay. 
• Bhutan maintains a cap on the number of visitors entering the country, so make sure you plan your trip accordingly. 
• Chendebji Chorten is a religious place, so make sure you dress modestly by covering your shoulders and knees. 
• Bhutan usually recognizes Tuesday as the Dry Day i.e., the day when the locals do not drink any alcohol. 
• You may get altitude sickness, so make sure you carry enough medications for a safe time travelling.
