The Capela Nossa Senhora das Dores, or “Capelinha,” is a charming 19th-century chapel in Paraty, Brazil. Built around 1800 by women of the local aristocracy, it features a simple yet elegant colonial design, reflecting Paraty’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Located near the Perequê-Açu River, the chapel offers a serene atmosphere, making it a peaceful spot for visitors.
As of the latest available information, the chapel is open to visitors on Saturdays from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM, and there is no admission fee. Please note that visitors are not permitted to enter wearing bathing suits, and filming or photographing inside the chapel is prohibited.
Regular Mass services are held on Fridays at 7:30 PM, and the chapel also hosts weddings and other ceremonies.
