BRADGATE PARK

The park offers a rugged and wild landscape with gnarled old oak trees and dramatic rocky outcrops, many of which are more than five hundred years old. It is the only enclosed medieval deer park that contains the oldest rocks in England.

Bradgate Park is one of the most popular places to see in Leicester, owing to its rugged landscape and splendid sceneries. It is spread across eight hundred and fifty acres and is situated roughly between the Anstey and villages of Newtown Linford. For more than two hundred years, the Grey family lived in Bradgate Park in Bradgate house. Bradgate House was constructed in Tudor style and is England's most magnificent Tudor mansion and country house.

The park boasts a club bar that serves food and hosts bingo evenings, disco nights, and quizzes. It also has a Visitor Centre with shops from where you can buy lovely items ranging from beautiful glass decanters to pens/pencils. The Visitor Centre tells the stories of the park, its history, geology, origins, and the wildlife that inhabits the park. The River Lin runs through the park and is an ideal spot to sit and watch the deer.
