Opened in 1972, the Blackpool zoo is one of the top tourist places to visit in Blackpool with your family. The Zoo initially had two Asian elephants, three white rhinos, gorillas, chimpanzees, two giraffes, and sea lions, among other species.
Head over to the zoo and experience close encounters with animals and also get a chance to spend a night at the zoo. It is also a resort. With over 1000 animals you can find zebras, camels, elephants, and even cockroaches among many others. One of the main attractions here is the elephant's zone where the elderly elephant kate was joined by Minbu, Noorjahan, Tara, and Esha in 2018.
They reside in Project Elephant Base Camp which is also UK's largest indoor facility with paddocks and a pool. The Zoo is also home to some amazing Orangutans, Gorillas, Penguins, Sea lions, and also Giraffes. One of the most popular attractions is the penguin zone where you can see penguins swimming and walking. The Blackpool zoo also has an amazing lake view cafe which has a Subway sandwich shop, coffee shop, Starbucks, and also an Asian outlet, Nawala Street food.
