Spread over an impressive area of 17 hectares of land, the Bird Paradise is a part of the Mandai Wildlife Group. Established in 2023, it is a newly opened bird sanctuary which has a population of around 3500 birds. There are more than 400 species of birds including scarlet macaws, toucans, hornbills, American flamingos, black-winged myna, emu, great argus and parrot.
Bird Paradise also offers a wide range of fun interactive experiences such as Nine Walk-through Aviaries, Bird Shows, Keeper Talks and Bird Feeding. Additionally, there is a dry amusement park named Treetops Play as well as a wet amusement park named Egg Splash. There is also a Penguin Cove which is home to four species of penguins, namely, King Penguin, Northern Rockhopper Penguin, Gentoo Penguin and Humboldt Penguin. The Bird Paradise also offers several eateries where you can rest and recharge yourselves with delicious meals and drinks. Some of the restaurants that you can try are Bird Bakery, Food Central, Penguin Cove Cafe & Shop and Crimson Restaurant.
Apart from the Bird Paradise, the Mandai Wildlife Group is also home to three major attractions of Singapore. Visitor Tips:
The entire Bird Paradise is divided into nine walk-through aviaries which are included in the tour of the reserve. The first aviary is the Hong Leong Foundation Crimson Wetlands, which includes a 20-metre-tall waterfall and several colourful birds like flamingos, macaws, spoonbills and ibises. Second is the Nyungwe Forest Heart of Africa which is the largest aviary, home to 80 species of African birds like grey parrots and black-crowned cranes. Third is Kuok Group Wings of Asia where you can spot birds like storks, pelicans and hornbills. Fourth is Amazonian Jewels which is home to charming species of Amazon like golden parakeet and saffron toucanet. Fifth is Songs of the Forest where you will be welcomed by the sweet voice of singing birds like snow white mynas, Victoria crowned pigeon and bulbul. The sixth aviary is named Lory Loft which is filled with colourful lories and parrots from all around the world. Seventh is Mysterious Papua where you spot big birds like Southern Cassowary. Eighth is the Australian Outback where you get to see the second-largest bird in the world, Emu. The last aviary is the Winged Sanctuary where birds like Oriental Pied Hornbill are kept in an enclosure.
The Bird Paradise organises several interactive bird shows to entertain the visitors. The reserve has a Sky Amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 2000 where bird shows are hosted twice a day. These shows last for approximately 20 minutes and include several birds like pelicans, lories, cassowary and storks. There is a bird trainer who does fun tricks with these birds and even picks someone from the audience to be a part of the show. Two of the most popular bird shows are Predators on Wings and Wings of the World. Additionally, you can feed the birds with your own hands which is a truly memorable experience. You can also purchase the backstage pass to get behind the scenes, personally interact with the caretakers and meet the vet.
The Penguin Cove at Bird Paradise is where the beautiful flightless birds of Antarctica reside. It is home to four different species of penguins as King Penguin, Northern Rockhopper Penguin, Gentoo Penguin and Humboldt Penguin. You can watch the penguins waddle on the ground or swim in the waters. You can even attend the fun Keeper Talk show to learn in depth about these adorable creatures, how they are taken care of, what they eat and their routine. Additionally, there is a souvenir shop from where you can purchase penguin-themed t-shirts, mugs and tote bags.

One of the most loved theme parks is the Treetops Play which includes huge trampolines and climbing structures. The kids can climb up like a spider or enjoy a freefall on the safe and secured trampolines. Another fun theme park is the Egg Splash which is an egg-themed wet playground. It includes wet play zones, water slides and shallow pools for the kids. Apart from these, Mandai Wildlife Group also offers play zones for the kids. Two of the most popular themed restaurants at the reserve are Penguin Cove Restaurant and Penguin Cove Cafe & Shop. Egg Splash also has an egg-themed cafe which is mainly famous for its breakfast and desserts. For a fine dining experience, you can head towards the famous Crimson Restaurant which offers a specially curated menu by a celebrity chef, Eric Teo. For a more diverse option, you can visit the Food Central which is a food courtyard, serving cuisines from around the world.
Mandai Wildlife Group also includes other three major attractions such as Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and River Wonders. Spread across 26 hectares of land, Singapore Zoo is home to more than 300 species and over 4,200 animals. Here, you can spot animals like golden poison frogs, Aldabra giant tortoises, elephants, kangaroos, orangutans, lions, sea lions, cheetahs and chimpanzees. The Night Safari offers an even more adventurous experience of exploring an open zoo after dark which is home to more than 2500 creatures of the night. Another popular attraction is River Wonders which takes you on a boat tour to witness over 260 species of aquatic animals. Some of the fascinating marine creatures that you can spot are manatees, otters, catfish, piranha, electric eel, Chinese giant salamanders and softshell turtles.
