BATU BOLONG BEACH

Explore the largest of Canggu’s three sister beaches, Batu Bolong is renowned for both its magnificent natural beauty and its surf spots. The waves here are fairly moderate, making it ideal for beginners as well as seasoned surfers. Batu Bolong is famed for its sunsets as well, and has several designated vantage points for the same.

Batu Bolong Beach is the most famous spot for surfing and chilling in Canggu which makes it must to include attractions in your Bali tour packages. It's located at the end of Canggu's best and trendiest street, where you can always expect a terrific vibe, whether it's day or night. The beach at Batu Bolong is a 1.5-kilometer expanse of black sand. With year-round waves and a slew of surf schools bordering the beach, it's no wonder that there's a strong surfer feel here.

Despite its tiny size, Batu Bolong has a number of beach bars that fill up as the day progresses. The renowned Old Man's beach bar is located near the Batu Bolong parking lot, however there are other other beach bars along the beach. You may watch the sunset with your toes on the sand, or with a beer at Old Mans' tavern, or at one of the cliffside cafés overlooking the beach and ocean. Once a month, Old Mans has a weekend market where local merchants display their clothing and cuisine, which is largely organic. 

As far as chilling by the beachfront goes, The Lawn is another popular hangout spot at this beach. A luxury club, the Lawn features a massive swimming pool settled right by the beach, making it an excellent sunset spot as well. Many people meet on the beach around dusk to watch the sunset while enjoying a drink, coconut, and tasty grilled corn.

How To Reach

Batu Bolong Beach is located right at the end of the Canggu coastline, with the entrance right in front of the Old Man’s Beach Bar and restaurant. For those staying in Canggu, Batu Bolong would only be a short walk across the main street. Those traveling from other places in Bali will need to hire either a car or a scooter. One must travel along Jalan Raya Kerobokan and take the left towards Raya Canggu to reach Canggu main street.
