About Barra Lighthouse
The Barra Lighthouse (Farol da Barra), located in Salvador, Brazil, is one of the oldest and most iconic lighthouses in the Americas. Standing 22 meters (72 feet) tall, it is housed within the Santo Antônio da Barra Fort, a historic structure dating back to 1698. The lighthouse, built in 1839, continues to guide ships navigating the entrance of All Saints Bay (Baía de Todos os Santos).
