Bali Butterfly Park Overview

Home to some of the rarest species of butterflies and other insects, the Bali Butterfly Park offers a unique experience to visitors. You get to admire the rare species of swallowtail, great Mormon, and birdwing butterflies on your visit to this place. Bali Butterfly Park also hosts research, breeding and preservation of butterflies and other endangered species of insects.

Also known as Taman Kupu-Kupu, the Bali Butterfly Park is one of the most beautiful parks, and a significant place to visit with our exclusive Bali tour packages. Spread across an expanse of over 3,000 square metres, the park also boasts of being home to hundreds of different species of butterflies, along with other insects.

Located in the Tabanan Regency of Bali, it also ranks as the largest butterfly park in the entire Asian continent. Furthermore, the park also doubles up as a research centre, where studies are conducted for the breeding and conservation of endangered species of insects and butterflies.

Bali Butterfly park also has a museum-like area, complete with glass boxes, display cabinets and exhibition spots. This is located inside a room away from the main park, and consists of a wide array of insects, ranging from spiders, beetles and scorpions, to many more butterfly species from all over the world.

The park has many exhibits of butterflies, which have been collected from different parks of the Indonesian archipelago. Additionally, during the tour, you can also enjoy learning about the metamorphosis of different species of butterflies such as the Common Birdwing and Paradise Birdwing among others, and see how they transform from an egg to life-sized butterflies.

How To Reach

The best way to reach the Bali Butterfly Park is by flying to the Ngurah Rai International Airport. From there, a taxi or bus ride can take you to Denpasar city. Then, you can avail a bemo from the Ubung Bemo terminal in Denpasar, which will get you to Tabanan, which is where the Bali Butterfly Park is located.

Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit the Bali Butterfly Park is before 10 in the morning as the park opens. This is when you will be able to see the butterflies at peace, without having to worry about standing in a long queue with hundreds of other visitors.

This is also when the butterflies are the most active, as they are set free to enjoy fresh dew and nectar from the flowers.
