AVANOS

Tucked away in the Nevşehir province of Cappadocia, this scenic town seems straight out of a picture book. Avanos is very popular for its souks, pottery workshop, and other incredible experiences. The town maintains its old world charm with cobbled walkways lined with quaint shops and cafes. It is also known for its various souvenir shops and pottery making.

Kizlirmak has a very rich clay basin and so, Avanos flourishes with pottery as the main livelihood of the people here. From interesting lay ashtrays and mugs to ornate plates and chess sets, the people here sell many potteries which are great picks for souvenir shopping. Apart from pottery, the people here also carve alabaster, the pale translucent stone.
