The Auschwitz-Birkenau was the largest concentration camp established by the Nazis to exterminate the Jewish people. Today, it has been converted into a memorial and is must see places in Krakow where a number of exhibition are set up that displays the terror and horror of the Jewish Holocaust.
In the contemporary world, Auschwitz has become a symbol of terror, due to the Holocase genocide that were carried on there. Aushwitz was a large Nazi concentraion camp where mass exterminations took place and more than a million Jewish people, including children tortured and exterminated.
Explore the two parts of the Auschwitz Memorial - Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II (also called Birkenau). The Memorial along with the exhibition were opened in 1955, and gives a glimpse into the terror and chaos of the Holocaut. You’ll find scores of artefacts, uniforms, documents, garments and other items of the jewish deportees in addition to objects used by the SS, their uniforms and other items.
