Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine Overview

The Fuji Sengen Shrine is a Shinto shrine that was constructed in 705 and is a prominent spot in the Arakurayama Sengen Park. Ever since then, the shrine has been visited by a lot of powerful leaders due to its historical significance. 

In fact, even when Mount Fuji erupted in the 800s, the Japanese emperor sent an envoy to pray here. History also says that upon arrival, a ritual was performed to prevent the eruption of Mount Fuji. This shrine is frequented by locals as it is believed that the shrine here grants wishes related to childbirth. Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, a picturesque site with stunning views of Mount Fuji, is a highlight of many Japan packages.

1. By Car: The Arakurayama Sengen Park is 3.2 km from the city centre, it will take 11 min via Chuo Dori road.

2. By Train/ metro: Take a train to Furrato station which is 550 metres away from the Ryogoku Kokugikan. You can reach the activity location from the train station with a 8-minute walk

4. Maintain silence at the shrine and do not disturb the sanctity of the park and its atmosphere. 

5. You will have to climb up to 400 steps to get to the top of the pagoda for the views, but it is absolutely worth it.
