Popularly known as the Hamidiye Mosque, the Anbariya Mosque is one of the most historically significant places to visit in Medina. This Mosque features Ottoman-style architecture which boasts arcaded porticos, semi-domes, domes, and horseshoe-shaped arches. It was built in the year 1908 by Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamid II and has been named after the Anbariya Gate that was located right next to the mosque.
This mosque was also a part of the Hejaz Railway project that lies close to the Al-Muazzim Railway station housing the Hejaz Railway Museum. Once you enter the mosque you will be blown away by the artistic motifs inside the mosque painted by an Azerbaijani architect.
