The A'ali West Burial Mound Field is an extensive archaeological site located in the village of A'ali in Bahrain, forming part of the larger Dilmun Burial Mounds complex. This ancient necropolis features hundreds of dome-shaped burial mounds dating back to the Dilmun civilization (2050-1750 BCE). These mounds, constructed from layered limestone and soil, vary in size and often contain single or multiple burial chambers. Archaeological excavations have unearthed pottery, tools, weaponry, and jewelry that provide insights into the sophisticated burial practices and trade networks of this Bronze Age society. The A'ali West field is significant for preserving one of the world's largest and densest prehistoric cemetery landscapes, earning it UNESCO World Heritage status.
