Yung Island Or Mosquito Island Overview

One of the remotest parts of Phi Phi islands, Mosquito Island is one of the isolated islands which consist of a limestone cliff rock which is around 700 meters in height. The island is divided into two small beaches and both the beaches remain filled with mosquitoes during sunset and hence the name.

Beautiful white sandy beaches and soft corals enhance the beauty of the island. Swimming is not suggested here as blacktip sharks are common in the northern cove. Snorkeling is done on the southeastern shores whereas diving is done best on the northeastern tip. If you are planning a tour to Thailand this should be on the list of your places to visit in Krabi.

Highlights: Mosquito Pinnacle about a km north west of Mosquito Island

Location: Mosquito Island, Krabi

Getting There: The island is located at a distance of about 30 minutes and one can reach there through a long tail boat from Ao Nang (Krabi).
