Jatayu Tirtham Temple Overview

The temple is dedicated to one of the most powerful birds in our Indian Mythology and that is “Jatayu” known as the king of birds this temple resonates with the mighty and ardent follower of Lord Rama. It is in this place Jatayu crashed due to a slashed wing and where Lord Rama buried him, making it one of the most important and historically famous places.

This temple makes an interesting story and is an enriching
place to visit in Rameswaram, the tirtham is surrounded by a vast structure that is full of natural water and gives an extremely peaceful energy to anyone who visits this temple.

In the months between October - April the temple is calm and has less rush which makes it even more endearing to its visitors. It projects a spiritual surrounding and one must feel unburdened by their usual schedule making this a good place for tourists to visit in Rameshwaram.
