Dragon Crest Overview

Dragon Crest is one of Krabi's most well-known vistas. From its peak, you'll have a breathtaking view over Krabi province. The little National Park of Dragon Crest is located near the end of Tubkaek Beach, 20 kilometres northwest of Ao Nang town.

Climbing Dragon Crest provides a fantastic opportunity to have a closer look at the characteristic rainforest vegetation of southern Thailand. The trail to the top is well-marked, making it impossible to get lost, but it is also surrounded by beautiful thick greenery. Reaching the summit will reward you with breathtaking vistas.

The hike's first 500 metres are rather flat, with only a little incline. However, the trail rapidly slopes up and becomes rather steep after that and it continues to like that until you're practically at the top. Fortunately, the path is usually always shaded, but the humidity is really high, so you will sweat profusely. The foliage changes as you get closer to the summit, and the trail opens up and becomes stony. Once at the summit, there are various rocky outcroppings that provide excellent vantage points for taking in the breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea.

Start your day off properly by taking a self-guided climb up Dragon Crest Mountain on the well-marked track. Take in the beautiful trees and lush greenery of the slope on your trip up. Snap a moment to explore the surroundings and take photos once you've made it to the first viewpoint before heading back down and meeting your instructor to begin your ATV experience.

After sightseeing and driving through Krabi's mountainous terrain, treat yourself to a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before changing into your bikini and hopping into your kayak. Before returning to your lodging, paddle around and have a bathe in the cool waters.
